In 2015 I embarked upon a sabbatical of sorts, relinquishing my day-to-day professional responsibilities in order to realize a longstanding ambition of mine: writing and publishing a book explaining the insights I gained as I lost my sight. Those insights have brought me immense rewards—joy, fulfillment, “success”—and I’ve long felt compelled to share their nonrival treasure with others. (When the Tripskys were born, those “others” came into sharp focus!)

Talking about writing a book led to talking about what would be in the book, which naturally led to giving talks on the book’s subject matter! With a lot of luck, a lot of hard work and invaluable guidance from my thought leadership partner Greg Ray, all that writing and talking turned into an amazing whirlwind journey, including a mainstage TED Talk, What Reality Are You Creating For Yourself?

My book, Eyes Wide Open, was published by Penguin Random House, and it hit the proverbial shelves in 2017 as a New York Times Best Seller. Audible produced an audiobook version [link to audiobook], which I was delighted to “perform” myself. The publication of Eyes Wide Open and The release of my TED Talk (which garnered more than a million views in its first three weeks!) provided me a robust speaking platform. I took full advantage; Greg and I have delivered my message to dozens of organizations around the world. In the first year—by far the craziest—I spoke more than 35 times, in 8 countries, to more than 30,000 people. Greg was with me for most of them, and we hardly slept for all the deep conversations and bone-rattling laughter and eclectic libations. Our “five cities in five days” swing through Europe was a highlight.

These days my priorities require me to be far more selective about accepting speaking engagements. However, I’m pleased to consider thought leadership requests that resonate with my interests and ideals. I continue to speak about leadership, self-empowerment, and web3 technology. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a potential engagement.
