Mastering Your Reality: Dorie Clark

In every moment, you choose who you want to be and how you want to live your life. It’s your ultimate power, and your inescapable responsibility. You’re the master of your reality.

It doesn’t always feel that way, though. Too often, we believe the awful fictions of our fears, believe our misguided assumptions and our faulty logic; we surrender to our self-limitations; we misperceive our strengths, our weaknesses, our luck and our success; we perpetuate our insecurities and vanities; and we fail to listen to each other, and to our own hearts.

How do we take control, creating the lives we want for ourselves with awareness and accountability? That’s the question we’ll explore in this interview series, Mastering Your Reality. We’ll explore the question with remarkable people who clearly have much to teach us on the subject.

Today’s guest is one such person. Dorie Clark is a marketing strategy consultant. She’s widely recognized as a branding expert. Her first book, Reinventing You, was translated in a million languages and very well acclaimed. Her second book, Stand Out, did just as well. She thinks about and writes about personal reinvention, recreating ourselves in the mold and in the vision of who we want to be. I invite you to join my conversation with Dorie Clark, in this episode of the Mastering Your Reality Interview Series.

I want to hear from you.

Whether you’ve attended one of my speeches or consulting sessions, ordered Eyes Wide Open, seen my TED Talk, read one of my blog or social media posts, or you’re simply visiting this site, I want to know what you think. Make a point (big or small), share a story, offer criticism, ask a question—whatever suits you. I’d like to start an open conversation, so I’d appreciate your permission to share your submission in the future—anonymously, if you prefer. Even if I can’t share your thoughts with others, however, I still want to hear them, so please do tell me what’s on your mind. Thank you.
